Britannia Sterling Silver Serving Table Spoon Rattail Marked Nathaniel Roe London 1716 -7. Presented is a fantastic heavy rattail table or serving spoon hallmarked for Britannia London Sterling Silver made in 1716-17 by Nathaniel Roe. Th a partial makers mark with a stags head. I have posted a picture of my research on the date mark in the photos above.

This great piece has an up turned end with a short front mid-drib and a deep elliptic oval bowl with some tip ware. It has no dents and only a minor nick in the edge of bowl with some fine scratches from gentle use and care and an interesting engraved bold letter monogram of WRSDI. It is an excellent piece for the collector of antique English Sterling Spoons. I have an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my other auctions. Measure : 8 1/8 Inches by 1 5/8 Inches across bowl.
Weight : 2.1 ounces on my postal scale or 60 grams. Marks : Hallmarks for Britannia English Sterling Silver made in 1716 -7 with a partial makers makers mark that appears to contain two letters; the second being an O beneath a stags head.
I have place a picture of my research on the date mark in the photos above. Condition : no dents and only a minor nick in the edge of bowl and some tip ware, a bold letter monogram of WRSDI some fine scratches from gentle use and care.
