Sterling Silver Toddy Ladle with Silver Tipped Carved Wood Handle Marked EM 1798 - 9. Presented is an elegant English style sterling silver Toddy serving ladle with an angular carved silver tipped wood handle. It has a great oval bowl with a flat flared rim and is hallmarked in the bottom of the bowl for English sterling silver with a date mark for silver made in London in 1798 - 9 with a makers mark of EM I believe to be for E.
I have place pictures of my research on these marks in the photos above. It is an elegant lovely piece with only some dents and dings, no monogram, a slight wobble of handle, and some light scratches from use and care. It is an elegant useful piece for the collector of antique English silver. I have an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my other auctions.
