Taxco Sterling Silver & Multi Gem Square Link Bracelet Marked Tz-17 925 Mexico
Hello and welcome to my page! Up for your purchasing pleasure is this stunning sterling. Silver multi stone link bracelet from Taxco Mexico, oft hailed as the silver capital of the world due to the beauty of the sterling art produced. This piece lives up to expectations, with stones of malachite, what I think are carnelian and jasper, lapis lazuli, and onyx. Mexico adopted this hallmark style in the late 1970s, where the first letter stands for the city in which the artist lived, the second the first letter of the craftmans last name.
The number represents the order of registry. Unfortunately, Mexico did not keep records here so its hard to know who the artist is who created this piece. 17 is a low number relatively speaking, given the number of people whose last name begins with "Z" who have been silversmiths in Mexico since the 1970s....
