   Set of 12 Knives and Forks for FISH. All are HALLMARKED: Sheffield (Crown) Lion (Sterling) i (Date Letter for 1902) and WRH (The Silversmiths). The HALLMARKS are IDENTICAL on all 12 pieces on the Knife Blades or reverse of Forks and, in addition, the COLLARS on each piece are HALLMARKED as well. The ORIGINAL BOX is Leather Covered with much evidence of use, but the HINGES and CLOSURE are FIRM and TIGHT. All 12 pieces are in very good condition with tight-fitting BONE HANDLES. Very Rare York Sterling Silver Fish Slice W Town Mark, Edward Jackson, 1827

This is a very nice and rare piece of antique York sterling silver. Not only does it have the town mark stamped on (which is uncommon for flatware), it also includes the very rare capital Q version of the date letter for 1827. This piece has been exhibited in the UK. Three Centuries of York exhibition in 2000. There has been some strengthening to where the blade and handle join. It looks classically provincial in its simplicity.
