VERY RARE York Sterling Silver Fish Slice w Town Mark, Edward JACKSON, 1827

This is a very nice and rare piece of antique York sterling silver. Not only does it have the town mark stamped on (which is uncommon for flatware), it also includes the very rare capital Q version of the date letter for 1827.

This piece has been exhibited in the UK. Three Centuries of York exhibition in 2000. There has been some strengthening to where the blade and handle join.

It looks classically provincial in its simplicity. Great clear hallmarks for Edward Jackson, York in 1827. It measures just under 33cm long and weighs a solid 185 grams.
