Legendary Navajo Mark Chee Vtg Sterling Silver & Turquoise Row Cuff Bracelet
Up for sale is this stunning sterling silver row cuff bracelet with 7 natural Red Mountain turquoise gemstones made by the legendary Navajo silversmith Mark Chee. The bracelet is beautifully crafted using the highest qualities of materials and is in excellent vintage condition. It has a total inside measurement of 6-3/4 including a 1-1/4 gap, is 1-3/16 wide and has a total weigh of 146 grams. It is signed with Marks distinctive hallmark, the name Chee, enclosed in the profile of a birds head and upper torso.
In addition to the distinctive hallmark, Mark Chees jewelry is easily recognizable by its heave gauge silver, fine stamp work and his use of hand cut high-grade natural turquoise gemstones. He was an extremely skillful silversmith who used some of the best turquoise and thickest silver available.
He worked on the bench for Frank Patania as well as Al Packard. He became a very well-known and historically one of the most important and collectable great Navajo artists. This bracelet was acquired from private collection in Santa Fe, New Mexico. See my other posting of the unsigned 7-stone row cuff bracelet from the same private collection that has many.
