Mexican Artisan Ortega Sterling Silver Cup or Vase Hand Wrought with Figural style number of 38988. Presented is a beautiful tall cup or vase with a detailed design including a figural face peering out of one side. This great cup is hallmarked on the bottom for Silver by Alfredo Ortega & Sons Silver Smiths; active since the 1930's with a design or style number of 38988. I have posted my research on this mark in the photos above. This is a stunning piece with dents in the raised base making it out of round, a ding in the top rim, no monogram and only fine scratches from gentle use and care.
It is a great addition to almost any bar ware set or simply a nice piece for the collector of fine silver artisan crafted items. I have an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my other auctions. Measure: 6 7/8" inches tall, 3 1/8" across top, 2 ¼ inches widest across bottom. Weight : 9.3 ounces on my postal scale or 265 grams.
