High end early vintage or antique French sterling brooch, fully hallmarked. I can read'Depose' and'Marsin'. There is also a crab mark, and another that I can't identify. There is a diamond- shaped mark with 2 letters. This piece has great sparkle with unfoiled, open back faceted glass stones.
This is a brooch with simple c-clasp, but I think this was an early conversion from a coat or fur clip. There is a post on reverse at bottom, like you would often see on clips at the time - see photo 7. Very good wearable condition with no damage. Only light wear consistent with gentle use.
