Highly collectable Vintage filled Sterling silver monkey (chimpanzee) statuette, designed with exceptional attention to any detail. Produced by the Magrino brothers in Italy in the 1970's.
Fully hallmarked with English import hallmarks for London, date letter R and sponsor mark FM. The statuette is also marked 925 and has the Magrino mark and other mark I couldn't identify. In good condition with only a small chip underneath.

Firstly because it tested strongly as Solid silver, may previously have been resized (not something a jeweler would generally do unless it was a precious metal) and finally Silver Plate is usually stamped'Silver plate' or'EPNS'.
